Théâtre 14, with whom we had co-organized the performance of Bastien Dausse at the Ste Anne hospital last May, will host 1 day of work. Then the participants will go to our friends at Espace Périphérique for 4 days, before finishing at our long-time partner the Théâtre de la Cité internationale for the last 3 days.

The 6 artists attending are Andrea Rodriguez de Liebana & Sergio Gonzalez from Palimsesta Company, Mary Schroeder & Anne-Julia Neumann from Hopscotch Company, Aleš Hrdlička and Izabelė Kuzelytė. These authors will be mentored by Darragh McLoughlin, 2013-2014 circusnext laureate.

Darragh McLoughlin

Darragh is an artist whose work is often a result of research with objects and movement as primary tools. He received formal training at Jonglier Katakomben, and then later ACAPA. He is actively influenced by the fields of cognitive science, psychology, semantics, ludology and aesthetics.

He created 3 full-length solo shows: 2014’s FOAM, 2015’s The Whistle & 2019’s Stickman; he directs the enduring performance project For As Long As We’re Here (2021).

My work these days searches for a very strong and direct way to connect with an audience – less through narrative, more through dramaturgy and how the human brain receives/perceives information and creates meaning.

I hope to be able to use my viewpoint to help these young artists deconstruct their work and sharpen their artistic intention in order to reach deep into their audience.”
