Mercat de les Flors is a public consortium created by the Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia and supported by the Ministry of Culture.

The Mercat is an important venue where national and international companies perform. It has become a reference point for all artistic disciplines related to movement, principally dance but also visual and gestural theatre, and circus.

The Mercat supports and promotes new initiatives so as to establish the dynamics needed to reaffirm the creativity of artists and advance their possibilities abroad. The venue offers a diverse programme which reveals different stages of the creative process and includes fully established international companies and more local productions, as well as up-and-coming choreographers who are breaking new ground internationally.
